Officially installed in his functions on 7th July 2020
at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex, Joseph YERIMA will be the one to
coordinate the administrative activities of the Sports and Physical Education
Ministry.
The
Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Professor Narcisse MOUELLE KOMBI
Chaired the solemn installation ceremony
that witnessed the presence a number of members of government , officials of
MINSEP and well-wishers who came from far and near to cheer up the new
Secretary general.
Speaking
at the ceremony, the Minister of sports and Physical Education started by
lauding the incoming Secretary General, Joseph YERIMA on behalf of the Sports
movement in general for the Head of State’s renewed confidence on him to now
pilot the administrative activities of his ministerial department. MINSEP also
used the opportunity to thank the out-going Secretary General, BENGA Zachee
Robert Theophile for his brilliant passage in the Ministry of sports and
Physical Education and enormous contribution in the handling of some sensitive
documents of this ministry.
The Minister during the ceremony recalled the
main objective assigned to the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education to the
new man in command on the aspect of consolidating the health of the population
and promoting the image of Cameroon through the achievement of high level
sporting performances. He continued that the Ministry of Sports and Physical
Education acts daily for the consolidation of the three strategic axes defined
by the DSCE, namely: the supervision of the sports movement, the development of
sports infrastructure and governance and support institutions in the Sports and
Physical Education Subsector.
The Mr. YERIMA was made to understand that
being the main collaborator of the Minister, he is supposed to:
- coordinate the action of the central
administration and devolved services of the ministry and hold coordination
meetings for this purpose, the minutes of which are sent to the Minister;
- define and codifies the internal procedures
of the Ministry;
- ensure the permanent training of staff and
organizes, under the authority of the Minister, seminars and training courses
for retraining, advanced training or specialization;
- follow, under the authority of the Minister,
the action of the attached services, the action programs of which he approves
and receives activity reports;
- ensure fast processing of files centralizes
the archives and manages the documentation of the Ministry.
The new
administrative boss was also commissioned on some very urgent files that needed
quick attention like the preparations linked to the organization in Cameroon of
the Total CHAN Cameroon in January 2021 and Total AFCON Cameroon 2022, wherein the
very high hierarchy grants particular interest in its success.
The new central
administrative boss who hail from Garoua
Boulai in the Loma md Djerem Division of the East Region and more precisely in
Bongo in the Betare Oya Sub-division is aware of the challenges awaiting him
and has promised to work hard to surmount these challenges.
The Minister of Sports and Physical Education Professor Narcisse MOULLE KOMBI signed on the 22nd of October 2019, a decision appointing the Chief and members of the Secretariat of the Directorate of Tournament of the TOTAL Africa Nations Championship, Cameroon 2020 «TOTAL 2020 CHAN ».
The minister of Sports and Physical Education- President of the Local Organising Committee of TOTAL 2020 and TOTAL 2021 AFCON (COCAN 20-21), announces the launch of a National artistic contest competition for the proposal of the Official mascot of Cameroon 2020 Africa Nations Championship.
The contest is open as from 1st November 2019 to all Cameroonian plastic arts artists
The registration form and the Special Contest Rules are available at the Directorate of Tournament located at the premises of Yaounde Omnisports Stadium, in the various Regional and Divisional Delegations for Sports and Physical Education and on the website www.minsep.cm
